Pomeranian Region offers a well developed network of health care facilities. In 2013, a Nuclear Medicine Institute was created at Gdynia; the Oncology Centre of the Szpital Morski hospital. The facility will permit faster diagnoses and thus increase the quality of the region’s health care system.
The recently adopted health care model has proven to be effective: those places providing basic medical services have been successfully privatised. Furthermore, the cities finance various health prophylaxis programmes for its inhabitants to help them detect abnormalities at an early stage.
For about a dozen years, the region has been witnessing the development of a network of private medical services with a wide range of medical packages for companies and individual clients.
